2Peas Challenge -- the Perfect Summer Vacation

I love this challenge because it has started me thinking about my layout for Mandy's CJ. Hooray!

Summer vacation... It would be hot, but not humid. I could walk on the beach and swim in the ocean, but not get all nasty and sweaty and sandy. I could read and scrap whenever I wanted. I could drink as many strawberry daquaris as I wanted without gaining an ounce. It would rain and cool down so that at night I could put on jeans and a sweatshirt, enjoy a fire, but not need to wear socks. I would actually LIKE how I look in a bathing suit. I would get to go camping any time I wanted and enjoy hikes with Zach and Kharma. My house would stay clean (perhaps I'd have a maid...) so that I wouldn't be bogged down. The refrigerator would be stocked with juicy strawberries, cut-up sweet watermelon, ice cold water, and lots of fresh vegetables. Grilling out... lots of chicken and the occasional steak.

I can dream, can't I?

Just what I was waiting for...

WTF?

This was in one of those "money mailers" that comes to my house about 7 million times a week. All I can really say is WTF? Is this lawyer so hard up for business that s/he thinks s/he can woo people with a free dinner and dessert? When you make you will it's like having your cake and eating it too?!? I just don't get it. What exactly is this world coming to?

I'm just... so... WTF, dude?

If you try sometimes, you just might find...

you get what you need.

And this is what I needed today:
Every day, passion speaks to us through our feelings. that's why when you allow yourself to become anesthetized by what others think, you literally block yourself from living the life you were called to live.
I promise you that if you make a choice that doesn't please your mate, your friends, your mother, or whoever, the world will not fall apart -- the people who truly love you want you to love yourself. and as you become clearer about who you really are, you'll be better able to decide what is best for you -- the first time around.

Exhale.

What do people envy about you?

People Envy Your Generosity

You're a giving soul, and you'd do almost anything for those you love. And they'd do anything for you!People may envy how giving you are, but more than anything, they envy those you open your heart to.

What about
YOU?

You Play... then you Pay.

Sometimes it seems it should be the other way around, but this week it was definitely NOT. I still haven't had a normal day since Tuesday night. The Corner Tavern was very brave to let us stay as late as we did. Don't know if they are going to let us come back... nah... they will.

All's I can say is it was One Wild Night!

I LOVE my girls!

My Fairy Name

How fun is this?

Your fairy is called Buttercup Hailglitter.
She is a protector of the lonely.
She lives in clover fields where fairy rings grow.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears bright clover green. She has cheery turquoise wings like a butterfly.

Not Pink Floyd's...

But our new retaining WALL!

Finally got a chance to step outside and take a few snaps of Zach's handiwork. And work it has been! For about a month now, using his weekends, Z has been building this beauty. I can't wait until he's done because... it means he starts work on our new floors! Woohoo!

Slow going now that I'm back from FL. Got up way too late today. Been catching up on some scrapping -- got to get these damn circle journals out this week. A burden I am ready to be rid of! 2 more to go. I've got the pictures ordered and will finish tomorrow. THEN, it's on to some scrapping for myself! It's summer and there is no better time!

Nice Tat...

I GOT A TATTOO!!

Well, it's henna, but isn't it fun??? After dinner last night, Mom and I went to make our mark -- or get marked, as it were. She has a cuff all the way around her ankle, and I couldn't resist this butterfly.

It's been a fun four days visiting mom and dad. I've walked on the beach and swam in the ocean. After visiting the Local Scrapbook Stores, I am newly inspired! I just finished reading The DaVinci Code and now I'm ready to see the movie! Mission Accomplished!

We head back home today... more books and scrapping await!

Back from the West Coast!

Well, it was a whirlwind visit, but a good one nonetheless. Once I got over my worry about Xerxes, I was able to relax and really enjoy the fam.

Our flight(s) out were ridiculous! The flight out of ATL was delayed. In Las Vegas we had 20 minutes to make our connection. We barely made it, but then we had to return to the gate anyway because of some kind of mechanical malfunction. We arrived at PDX around 3 AM. My back was killing me, I was exhausted, and all Zach could think was, "I bet our luggage won't be here..." Such an optimist!

We surprised the crap out of Grandpa -- he wasn't expecting us at all! The opening was awesome. He had a great turn out, and I'm sure many more people will come to see his killer artwork.

Other than that, we helped out with some landscaping. Zach, of course, had to get on the tractor. It was a fun time!

The flights back were fine. No problems. No delays. No mechanical issues. Needless to say, though, we won't be flying those friendly skies again.

Off to visit M&D tomorrow morning. Still trying to figure out how I'm going to get to the airport... All I know is... 4 days at the beach -- HELL YEAH!

Some fun pictures from Grandpa's Art Show:

Hi, I'm Tess! I'm a wife, a mommy, a friend, a teacher, a singer, a scrapper, a writer, a laugher, and a "wannabe" dancer. These are my ramblings... enjoy!
